Benefit Walk for Walker School (C)

The Walk for Walker will take place on Sunday, September 12, 2010, and begins and ends at DeFazio Park in Needham. It will be followed by refreshments and fun family activities. Food Allergies and Anaphylaxis Lecture (C)

How to Prevent and Handle Severe Allergic Reactions
Allergist Curtis Moody, MD, will present a talk and answer questions about food allergies and severe allergic reactions at the Metro-Boston Allergy and Asthma Educational Support Group. The program is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, New England Chapter. Dr. Moody will explain how to prevent, recognize, and treat anaphylaxis (the medical term for severe allergic reactions), and how to decide when to use epinephrine, the life-saving medication that comes in automatic injectors.


Sing-a-Long at Avery (M)

Summer may be coming to a close, but September brings Needham residents of all ages back together after months of vacations and busy schedules. Re-connect with friends - or come to meet new ones - as Cici Hunt gets us back into the groove with some tunes. We'll have Dunkin on hand for adults and sugar cookies for decorating and snack following the sing-a-long. This event is co-hosted with residents from Avery Crossings and a great opportunity to experience music and fun across many generations. This is a Parent Talk members-only event.

Join other Parent Talk families for a fall picnic and playground playdate! Bring your picnic blankets and lunch and we'll provide the popsicles. Enjoy your lunch, adult company and let your children run and play. This event is for Parent Talk members only.

Belkin Family Farm & Apple Picking (M)

Our Belkin Family Lookout Farm field trip will include riding the train where we will learn about the fruit orchards, varieties of fruit, and growing methods. We will explore the petting zoo and have fun at the farm-themed Children's Play Area which includes caterpillar rides, moon bounce and a burlap maze. We will finish the day with apple picking! Please bring a picnic lunch if you would like to stay and eat at the picnic tables at the end of our trip. This event is for Parent Talk members only.


CareerMoms Night Out (M)

Thinking about changing up your look for the fall? Come to the Color Studio Salon for complimentary hair color and make-up consultations, as well as a complimentary eye make-up application. Enjoy a relaxing night of beauty along with wine, cheese and crackers! If you're not interested in hair color consultations, stylists will be happy to give you a complimentary wash and blowdry! This event is for Parent Talk members only.


Toy and Costume Swap (C)

Dedham Junior Woman's Club Toy and Costume Swap. We will be accepting used, good condition smaller toys and halloween costumes. Bring one and take one for FREE. Items should be appropriate for ages 0-6. Please only one item per child. This is effort is being sponsored by the conservation committee of the Dedham Junior Woman's Club. This is not a Parent Talk sponsored event.
